Sing Street (2016)

Coming of age tale with catchy music.

Presentation:

Wallflower loser nerd in Britain makes a band to impress girl next door of his dreams. This premise alone has a very clear audience, which ends up being quite endearing actually with a decent score on par with Lala Land. Schoolboy delinquency, bullying, hipster, rejection, the whole lot ensues, but it's a pretty good time nonetheless.

Conclusion:

Pretty big heart and not too much hand-holding. This film fulfills some of the childhood dreams we've had as boys also personified by the elder brother. A decent flick that should speak to dreamers not corrupted from their springtime of youth.
