Pig (2021)
Waiting for a punchline that never happens.
Presentation:
The film looks misleadingly beautiful with some intriguing backroom scenes. Nicholas Cage gives it his all, but no spectacle can make up for this hollow plot.
Story:
A guy loves his best pig friend and tries to get it back. Through trials and tribulations, the film misleads you into thinking there will be a rewarding conclusion to this adventure. It makes you think it will be a John Wick story, but disappoints. The world building is actually interesting with backrooms and secret societies, yet the ultimate climax is a complete letdown and you are left with your hands empty.
Conclusion:
That's it? You keep waiting and waiting for that crazy moment the film promises you, but it never comes and before you know it...credits. I canโt imagine who this film is for.
