10 Cloverfield Lane (2016)

A suspenseful finely acted that keeps you guessing until the very end.

Presentation:

The film nearly entirely takes place in an underground bunker. With incredible performances from John Goodman, you really feel one with the protagonist, questioning everything you know.

Story:

Although this is an indirect sequel to Cloverfield, it's the best installment. Although the franchise has gone downhill, this one stands alone with its gripping script. It's hairy situation and one of the more fun paranoia tales and proof of concept for future series like Silo. John Goodman perfectly plays a conspiracy theorist and you never doubt his capability for malice, but are constantly questioning, maybe the protagonist is the evil one. A great subversion.

Conclusion:

Although the Cloverfield franchise is ruined, you may have missed this gem. It's plain fun and you know the script has substance when it takes place in just one bunker.
