Edward Scissorhands (1990)
Snip, snip.
Presentation:
A charming Frankenstein-esque tale of a man having scissors for hands. Johnny Depp is endearingly colorful despite being mute as a result of his attire which has stark contrast with the suburban environment. Itโs very quirky and whimsical like all Tim Burton films but this one stands out as one of his signature creations. A family friendly modern-ish fairy tale indicative of the 90s, this story stands out despite its formulaic story for its humor and memorable cast.
Conclusion:
As long as youโre not expecting serious filmmaking or storytelling, this can be a lighthearted experience if you let it. Oddly memorable for its characters and you might fall in love more than youโd expect. For outcasts, Tim Burton gives us another heartwarming experience for wallflowers to take refuge in.
