The Boondock Saints (1999)

A cult classic that gives fans everything they want in an action crime movie.

Presentation:

Two Irish Catholic brothers become vigilantes and wipe out Boston's criminal underworld in the name of God. And it has Willem Dafoe. If this synopsis doesnโ€™t intrigue you, nothing should. A guns blazing action movie clearly in service to fans, whom are most likely men that love this sub-gangster genre. It starts out like any standard movie that you might even find a bit redundant, just trotting along. Once the action starts, a switch will flick on and youโ€™ll suddenly realize the greatness of this film. Cathartic Tarantino-esque violence with guns, dark comedy and nudity, it delivers all the subconscious delinquency we find entertaining in cinema.

Conclusion:

A film that might test the time because of the magical chemistry of its beloved cast. There is something very charming about this film, perhaps glued together by the very personable and likable personalities. Willem Dafoe is cinema here. If you like guns, action and wit, this shouldnโ€™t disappoint.
