If Gordon Ramsey made a movie.

Presentation:

For those that canโ€™t get enough of Gordon Ramsey, you might love the gruff, ambitious, no-nonsense pursuit of a chef chasing Michelin stars. After all, Gordon Ramsey is said to have consulted on the movie and even has his name pop up. The film is standardly shot, itโ€™s more about trying to depict the true nature of what itโ€™s like behind the kitchen of a fancy 5 star restaurant. Although Boiling Point does this better, there is a fleeting moment of culinary depth captured in this entertaining obsession trope. Bradley Cooper does an okay job, though I personally feel he tries too hard to make an artisan out of every characters he inhabits.

Conclusion:

This isnโ€™t a particularly strong story or script, but it does capture the essence and feel that these chefs go through. But nearly every culinary movie does this well, so if you really find the Gordon Ramsey style of commentary entertaining, you could find this right up your alley. Otherwise, there are better culinary films. Chefs or anybody that has worked in a kitchen should still enjoy this, or those that want to live vicariously through the heat of the kitchen.
