Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri (2017)
The best drama of the decade doesnโt need to advertise itself.
Cinematography:
The film is darkly funny and extremely engaging with knockout performance from perfectly imperfect Frances McDormand. Grit and character. This is a captivating script, well written and witty. You have redemption arc, you have hubris, a tragedy, dark humor. It never stops surprising you and the wheels never stop turning. Every character is nuanced and vivid and could probably have their own spinoff but the protagonist is truly incredible - talk about a badass female lead. You really feel this when she is perfectly juxtaposed with incompetent bimbos.
Conclusion:
This arguably should not be a 5 chili review, but can't think of a better drama in recent memory. It has laughs, tears, thrills, everything you want from a film and never bores you from start to finish. You'll be rooting for the protagonist the whole time.
