Godzilla Minus One (2023)

A good giant monster film.

Presentation:

The film looks wonderful with modern colorgrading and particularly beautiful blue green palettes. Godzilla looks big, menacing, and well CGI-ed. Nothing looks cheap for this low budget film, but are these merits enough for a good film?

Conclusion:

The film is mostly standard and with the main focus a coming of age tale of a man seeking courage and redemption. His acting is a bit unnuanced in typical Japanese style, but provides for a great airplane flick. The biggest take away should be the colorgrading as the over dramatic story provides predictable mindless entertainment. Nothing memorable for this film that should survive the tests of time, but a fun experience overall.
