Sully (2016)

Liftoff but not the smoothest of landings.

Presentation:

A real world depiction of the disaster navigated by pilot Sully and the fallout of the inevitable politics that ensue. Tom Hanks is a great casting choice and the drama for the most part is quite engaging. Due to nature of a film, many parts are overdramaticized including the trial, traumas when they are juxtaposed to the very realistic tone of the film.

Conclusion:

A mature slow burn with a few points of engaging moments, but with material stretched to fit a feature film with the overall experience lacking a bit of entertainment and possibly heart. Arguably still a better film than Denzel Washington's Flight. I really enjoyed the disaster reenactment of the film, but everything else mostly feels like water under the bridge.
