127 Hours (2010)
Claustrophobic immersion.
Presentation:
Danny Boyle and James Franco deliver an impressive documentary style movie that feels very real. For a film that entirely relies on a single actor, the film utilizes smart flashbacks and camera work to make the excruciating journey a bit more exciting. Lots of found footage, camcorder styles, sound design mixed in for what really feels like 127 hours.
Conclusion:
As far as documentary style films go, this one is quite good. It's one of a kind, though for those that want a bit more dramaticism, I might suggest similar films like Buried with Ryan Reynolds or Phone Booth.
