Interstellar (2014)
Emotionally satisfying space epic accomplished by one of the greatest modern scores.
Presentation:
Hoyte van Hoytema and Nolan team up for one of their best films. Shot on IMAX and prioritized practical effects, the film revolutionizes the space genre with nods to 2001: A Space Odyssey in atmosphere but this time with more heart, core to Nolan's style. Some of the physics and plot are difficult to grasp, leaving you to rely on a powerful father daughter dynamic that should leave you touched.
Conclusion:
Surely you've watched this already? An experience that hits every subsequent viewing, which is always the hallmark of a great film. Some bumps and confusion in this space ride leaving you drifting in space, but while reaching the stars you still find time to appreciate the new world despite the travel. The plot flies dangerously close to the sun, but does make enough sense to avoid any serious complaint as the core of this story is fatherly love in disguise.
