Nocturnal Animals (2016)
Tom Ford demonstrates that to make a good film you just need a vision.
Presentation:
The film has style and chic, but not in a clinical way. From the fashion guru Tom Ford, you really would not expect his film to look this good. Going back to familiar roots in Texas and New York, Ford provides a fascinating glimpse into this alternate world, story within story.
Story:
The plot employs the narrative of a book within a film, but the performances and plot are strong enough that you never feel cheated like devices where characters wake up from a bad dream. When the credits roll, it leaves you with just a lasting shared memory, a feeling all too familiar yet so distant. The story is a bit like True Detective but excellently paced while being genuinely thrilling and wrenching.
Conclusion:
A big surprise, a provocative thriller and most importantly a fresh perspective. Tom Ford is more than just the visuals, there is depth to this fashion icon.

Nothing like a Texas western heist.
