Scott Pilgrim Vs The World (2010)
What if you captured the comic book style in live action?
Presentation:
Another film very ahead of it's time, Michael Cera is perfectly cast as the awkward teenager to play Scott Pilgrim. The film has arguable the most style of any film as it depicts all the stylistics of American comic books in a wonderfully heavy editted visual treat. This is perhaps on of the best edited films with abundant humor and fun, never taking itself too seriously.
Conclusion:
Pretty strange to give this a 5, but thereโs nothing else like it. It doesn't matter how this film ends, the journey is jammed packed with gleefully animated performances and scenes that you'll likely never see again. A totally unique experience, which although doesn't have the most substantial script, is joyously novel pushing the boundaries of storytelling.
