The Call (2020)
Koreans are taking over the horror genre with one of the most surprisingly awesome villains.
Presentation:
It's truly a pity if you haven't realized how good Korean productions are. The cinematography and camera movement are just as good if not better than Hollywood in an attempt to prove Korea's reputation. The film looks high production with it's own clean Korean aesthetics but lurks in the shadows with unassuming qualities until things ramp up.
Conclusion:
A horror film with a phone may seem cliche, but this one takes this concept to outer space. This film is so much fun with Korean twists leaving you gasping at every turn. The characters are competent and itβs an epic clash in the climax. It's a film where you demand more once the credits roll and you'll wish the ride would never end. Park Shin-Hye has one of the most impressive performances and nails a most sadistic villain. You'll want to yell at your screen to no avail, a true popcorn thriller. One of my favorite horror films, tons of fun and wild twists that makes you want to ride again and again
