The Devil Wears Prada (2006)

A fashion film with a story that even male audiences will enjoy.

Presentation:

The film successfully brings you into the fashion world carried by the magnetic performance of Meryl Streep, modeled after fashion mogul Anna Wintour, and innocent performance of Anne Hathaway. Also jump started the career of Emily Blunt. Set in New York and other fashion cities around the world, characters are vibrant and fun in an un-obnoxious way. Kinda of like Sex in the City vibes but with a substantial plot. Story is well paced.

Story:

A story of ambition, passion, sacrifice, pursuit of success, friendship, betrayal, i think this story has a lot going for it despite appear to be a shallow story from the surface. Anne Hathaway is kind of the bad guy from the modern perspective. In an age of realism vs naivety, obsessive sacrifice vs indifference, Hathaway and Streep butt heads through compellingly explored relationship dynamics.

Conclusion:

This is a good story that happens to be in the fashion world. Great entertaining watch even for male audiences, whom may even find the professional drive relatable. You may even find something deeper within this film. A great flick with some surprises under the hood.
