A medieval biographical drama that never feels stale.

Presentation:

Don't ignore this film because of Netflix. It looks great and there are no shenanigans for this historical piece. It's straightforward without the usual unnecessary race swapping, with the exception of the French American Chalamet playing a Brit and the British Pattinson playing a French. Performances and accents are immersive, Chalamet really exudes reluctant royalty. Armor clad battles are satisfying and the look is mesmerizing.

Conclusion:

There's something captivating about medieval settings, the armor, the European gothic style, it's all very cinematic. But you also have good action and dramatic story that offers something a bit fresh. It's a little bit better than good, and it's thanks to Chalamet and the cinematography.
